Airsoft guns are replica firearms used in airsoft games that fire a plastic BB by way of compressed gas or electric and/or spring-driven pistons. These guns are designed to be non-lethal and to provide realistic replicas of real world firearms. Airsoft has become an incredibly popular sport around the world with many thousands of people from all walks of life both new and old eagerly looking forward to either simply plinking in their back yard or having garden battles with friends right through to large scale skirmishes in woodlands, derelict buildings, purpose built urban settings or even real jungle.

It was invented to serve as an example of a combat sport that did not need years of practice to become proficient in. However, it was found to be such an enjoyable activity for participants that it spread rapidly. Since then, the sport has grown to be very popular around the globe.
